How has the loft conversion changed your family's lives?

It feels like we have a 5-star hotel room now at the top of the house. Each time we go up there there is a sense of peace, calm and space. We managed, with Altitudes’ help, to really make the best use of the space, so much so that we were able to fit a stone bath as well as a separate shower in the bathroom. Not only this, but there is a great sense of light through the extensive balcony doors, the window and 4 large Velux windows. Altitude really was able to make what we thought we were an OK space into one that definitely has the wow factor.

At what stage of the project were you most pleased?

At the planning stage where the ideas were generated we were really excited when Billy and Chiara gave us great ideas on how to really maximise the space and design ideas that made us really convinced they were committed to giving us the best loft possible. Of course, the end-stage was also really pleasing, when suddenly, when the carpet was laid it all really came together as a luxury space.

What were you most worried about prior to the project commencing?

Due to the pitch of the roof and our 1st floor ceilings we had to have the floors lowered. This was a really disruptive process, especially since we lived in the build throughout. We were really worried that both the loft and the first floor would feel really cramped and low because of this, but our loft fitter helped make significant height savings that really added important height. The result of this is that even though the ceilings were lowered we were able to achieve a good height on both floors. So much so that we genuinely don’t even notice that we had to do this. Rob, our fitter really invested his efforts to achieve this for us and we are really pleased with the results.

Were the timescales provided met and within your expectations?

Yes, absolutely. Altitude was honest that due to the extent of the work we needed to have done it would take longer than the average loft, and the final date was sooner than we expected.

Did Altitude Lofts stick to the quote provided prior to the works starting?

Yes, there were no additional expenses that we didn’t fully discuss and agree with Altitude, and at no point did it ever feel like there was any upselling. They were open and transparent and, although not the cheapest, the result and experience was certainly first class, and we are so pleased with the result that we would heartily recommend them.

Both Billy and Chiara have been amazing with any questions and helping with ideas, Chiara has offered so much help and advice, nothing has been too much trouble. Emma, project manager, was great, always making sure we were fully informed. The loft team, Rob and Sam were so hard-working, skilled and really helpful on a daily basis. The contractors were all of such high quality and the finish was superb on everything.

We now have an amazing bedroom and bathroom in our loft that has far exceeded our expectations, it feels like a luxury hotel suite.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Altitude Lofts, they are a cut above the rest and true perfectionists in everything they do.
